Beautiful year-round, but trails can be muddy in early spring and icy in winter (microspikes recommended December-February). Fall foliage season (mid-October) is especially spectacular but attracts larger crowds.

Stop by Cafe Lago in Needham Center (10 minutes away) for wood-fired pizza and pasta that kids enjoy, or grab sandwiches and bagels at Cutty's for a post-hike picnic elsewhere.
