Early morning (7:00-9:00 AM) offers the best wildlife viewing as birds and animals are most active. Weekday visits are less crowded than weekends. Spring and fall migration seasons (April-May and September-October) provide the most diverse bird watching opportunities for budding naturalists.

Admission is free, making this an excellent budget-friendly family outing. Parking is available on-site. There are no food facilities, so pack snacks and water. Trails are mostly flat but not all are stroller-accessible.

Spring and fall offer prime bird watching during migration seasons. Summer can be hot and buggy but provides great opportunities to see baby wildlife. Winter visits are quieter with fewer crowds and excellent waterfowl viewing. Trails remain open year-round during operating hours.
