Entry requires a Michigan State Park Recreation Passport ($12 for residents, $34 for non-residents annually, or $9 daily pass). Restrooms and changing facilities are available near the beach, and while there are no food concessions, picnic areas have grills for family cookouts.

The park is open year-round, but swimming and beach activities are best from late June through August. Spring and fall offer excellent hiking with fewer crowds, while winter allows for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Note that some facilities may have limited hours or be closed during off-peak seasons.

Head to the nearby town of Crystal Falls (about 3 miles) where you'll find family-friendly options like Main Street Pizza for casual dining, or pack a cooler and take advantage of the park's excellent picnic facilities.
