Visit on weekday mornings from late June through August for the warmest water temperatures and fewer crowds. Early mornings offer calm, glass-like water conditions perfect for young swimmers, while weekends tend to be busy with boaters and beachgoers.

Access is free at public beaches, but parking can be extremely limited at popular spots, so carpooling is recommended. Most access points have minimal facilities, so plan to bring all necessary supplies including food, water, sunscreen, and portable restrooms if needed.

Best visited from late May through early September when water temperatures are warmest. July and August offer the most comfortable swimming conditions. The lake is accessible year-round but is primarily a summer destination, as water is too cold for swimming outside peak season.
