Canoe and kayak rentals typically range from $40-70 per boat depending on trip length, with shuttle services included. Life jackets are provided with rentals. There are no food vendors along the river, so pack a cooler with snacks and lunches for longer trips.

The river is most popular from Memorial Day through Labor Day when water levels are ideal and temperatures are warmest. Spring offers higher water levels and faster currents (more challenging for beginners), while fall provides stunning foliage but cooler water temperatures. Most rental facilities close or operate limited hours from October through April.
