Fumee Falls offers families an accessible wilderness experience with a stunning waterfall as the centerpiece. 1. 1.Bring water shoes for the kids as the rocks around the swimming holes can be slippery and sharp in places.

4. 4.The main viewing area is only a short walk from parking, making it stroller accessible, but bring a baby carrier for exploring beyond the main falls.

Late spring through early fall offers the best experience, with June and July providing warm weather for swimming. Arrive early morning (8-9am) on weekdays to avoid crowds and catch beautiful lighting on the falls. Spring runoff in May makes the waterfall most dramatic, though water is quite cold.

Completely free to visit with a small parking area near the trailhead (arrive early on summer weekends as it fills quickly). No facilities on site, so use restrooms before arriving, and pack out all trash to keep this natural area pristine.

Accessible year-round, but best visited May through October. Winter visits offer frozen waterfall views but require extra caution on icy trails. Swimming is only comfortable June through August. Trails can be muddy in early spring during snowmelt.
