1. 1.Start at the Rochester Municipal Park trailhead for easiest parking and access to restrooms and playgrounds for post-trail play.

Visit on weekday mornings or early weekend mornings (before 10am) for the least crowded experience. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable temperatures and stunning scenery with wildflowers or colorful foliage.

The trail is completely free to use with several free parking areas at various access points. There are no food vendors on the trail, so pack your own snacks and water, and note that restrooms are only available at certain trailheads.

Open year-round, but most enjoyable spring through fall. Winter use is possible but the trail is not plowed, making it better suited for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing with older kids. Peak fall foliage in October is especially spectacular.
