Pomeroy Lake Campground offers families an authentic Up North Michigan experience with excellent opportunities for fishing, swimming, and exploring nature together. The sandy swimming beach and calm lake waters make it ideal for introducing kids to camping and water activities, while the hiking trails provide adventures for families who want to disconnect and enjoy quality outdoor time.

Late June through August offers the warmest lake temperatures for swimming and the most reliable weather for camping. Weekdays are less crowded than weekends, and early September provides beautiful fall colors with fewer bugs and more available sites.

This is a rustic state park campground with basic facilities. There are no food services on site, so pack all your meals and snacks, or plan to visit restaurants in nearby Watersmeet.

Open late spring through early fall, typically May through October depending on weather. Best swimming conditions are July and August. Fall camping offers stunning foliage and cooler temperatures ideal for hiking. The campground closes for winter.

Watersmeet (10 minutes away) has a few casual family dining options including local diners and pizza places that can provide meal options if you need a break from camp cooking.
