Longview Lake offers 960 acres of outdoor adventure perfect for families who love nature and water activities. Visit on weekday mornings from May through September for the best weather with fewer crowds. The swim beach is most enjoyable mid-morning before peak afternoon heat, while early evenings offer beautiful sunset views and cooler temperatures for hiking or fishing.

Parking is free throughout the park with multiple lots near different activity areas. There are restroom facilities and changing areas near the swim beach, and while concessions are limited, the marina rents boats and water equipment at reasonable rates.

The swim beach is open Memorial Day through Labor Day with lifeguards on duty during peak hours. Spring and fall offer excellent bird-watching during migration seasons. Fishing is year-round, though summer and early fall typically see the best catches. Some trails may be muddy or closed after heavy rains.

Summit Waves (water park with concessions) is nearby, or head into downtown Lee's Summit for family favorites like Bandana's Bar-B-Q or Roscoe's Root Beer for classic burgers and floats just 10 minutes from the park.
