Bad Rock Canyon

This is a free outdoor trail with limited roadside parking at the trailhead. There are no facilities, so use restrooms in Whitefish before heading out. The trail involves some elevation gain and uneven terrain, so sturdy shoes are essential for the whole family.

Best hiked May through October when trails are snow-free and accessible. Spring offers the most dramatic water flow and wildflowers, while fall brings beautiful foliage. Winter hiking is possible but requires proper gear and caution due to ice. The creek crossings are most exciting during spring and early summer when water levels are higher.
