City Beach

City Beach is Whitefish's premier lakefront destination where families can enjoy the best of Montana summer fun. 1. 1.Arrive before 10am during summer weekends to snag prime parking and shaded picnic tables,this spot fills up quickly on hot days
2. 2.Bring water shoes as the beach has some rocky areas, and pack sunscreen (reapply often as the Montana sun is intense at this elevation)
3. 3.The splash pad is perfect for younger kids who aren't ready for lake swimming, and parents can supervise easily from nearby benches

Visit on weekday mornings (9-11am) from late June through August for the warmest water temperatures and smaller crowds. The lake can be chilly in early summer, so mid-July through August offers the most comfortable swimming conditions.

Parking is free but limited during peak summer hours. There are restroom facilities and changing areas on-site. No lifeguards are on duty, so supervise children closely in the water.

City Beach is primarily a summer destination, typically open from late May through early September. The splash pad operates seasonally (usually Memorial Day through Labor Day). Spring and fall offer beautiful scenery but water activities are limited due to cold temperatures. Winter access is available but facilities are closed.
