Visit on weekday mornings during spring (March-May) or fall (September-November) when temperatures are mild, trails are less crowded, and wildlife is most active. Weekends get busy, especially near the picnic areas, but arriving right at 8:00 AM ensures easier parking and peaceful trails.

Admission and parking are completely free, making it an excellent budget-friendly outing. Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center and select trailheads, but no food is sold on-site, so pack snacks, water, and a picnic lunch.

Open year-round with each season offering unique experiences. Spring brings wildflowers and baby animals, summer offers lush greenery (but more heat and humidity), fall showcases beautiful foliage, and winter provides quiet trails and easier wildlife spotting.
