


Pioneers Park Nature Center offers families an incredible opportunity to explore authentic Nebraska prairie landscapes and observe native wildlife,all completely free! Kids can hike scenic trails, spot bison and elk from safe viewing areas, and discover hands-on exhibits in the interpretive center that bring the natural world to life.
Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer the most comfortable temperatures for hiking and active wildlife. Weekday mornings are least crowded, while Sunday afternoons (when they open at noon) tend to be busier with families.
Admission is completely free, making this an excellent budget-friendly option for families. Parking is available on-site at no cost, but there are no food vendors, so pack snacks and water for your visit.
Open year-round with reduced Sunday hours (12:00-4:30 PM). Spring brings baby animals and wildflowers, summer offers full programming but can be hot, fall features beautiful prairie grasses, and winter provides a peaceful snowy landscape experience though trails may be icy.
