Visit on weekday mornings (8-11 AM) from mid-June through August for the calmest waters, smallest crowds, and most comfortable temperatures. Early September offers warm water with fewer visitors after school starts.

Beach tags are required for ages 12+ during summer season (around $7-10 daily). Free public parking is limited, so arrive early or use paid lots within a few blocks. Restrooms and outdoor showers are available at the beach.

Lifeguards are on duty daily from mid-June through Labor Day, typically 10 AM-5:30 PM. Beach tags are only required during this guarded season. The beach is accessible year-round for off-season walks and shell collecting, but swimming outside of summer is unguarded.

Head to Uncle Bill's Pancake House (a 5-minute walk) for breakfast before the beach, or grab lunch at Louisa's Café which offers kid-friendly sandwiches and pasta. Both are family favorites with quick service and reasonable prices.
