Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a world-class destination spanning over 580 acres with thousands of animals from around the globe. Admission is moderately priced ($$) with additional costs for parking, rides, and special experiences like giraffe feeding. The zoo has excellent stroller accessibility, multiple dining options throughout the park, and plenty of shaded rest areas for tired families.

The zoo is open year-round with reduced hours in winter. Zoombezi Bay water park operates Memorial Day through Labor Day. Wildlights holiday display (November-December) transforms the zoo with millions of lights and is extremely popular. Some outdoor exhibits may have limited animal viewing in cold weather as animals stay indoors.

Northstar Café (15 minutes away) offers fresh, organic, kid-friendly options with a welcoming atmosphere. For a quick bite closer by, City BBQ in nearby Powell serves family-style portions and has a kids' menu that appeals even to picky eaters.
