Spring and fall offer the most comfortable temperatures for family outings, especially early mornings (6-9 AM) or late afternoons (5-7 PM) on weekdays when the trail is less crowded with serious cyclists and joggers.

What to Know

The trail is completely free to use with ample parking at multiple access points along Riverside Drive. Restrooms are available at major entry points, but bring water and snacks as there are no food vendors directly on the trail.

Seasonal Notes

The trail is open year-round, but summer mornings are best to avoid Oklahoma heat (temperatures often exceed 95°F midday June-August). Spring brings beautiful wildflowers and active wildlife, while fall offers gorgeous foliage. Winter visits are pleasant on sunny days but check for ice after storms.
