Weekday mornings offer the most peaceful experience with ample parking and uncrowded trails. Fall (September-October) is spectacular for foliage and comfortable temperatures, while spring brings wildflowers and rushing creek water. Summer weekends are busiest but offer the best creek play opportunities.

There's a small per-vehicle entrance fee for Pennsylvania residents ($5-10) and slightly higher for non-residents. Restrooms and picnic facilities are available near main parking areas, but bring your own food as there are no concessions. Most trails are stroller-accessible, though some hiking paths are more rugged.

The park is open year-round with winter offering sledding and cross-country skiing opportunities. Summer can see parking lot closures due to capacity limits on busy weekends. Fall foliage peaks in mid-October. Some trails may be muddy in early spring after snowmelt.

Head to Newtown (5 minutes away) for Isaac Newton's Restaurant, a family-friendly spot with a kids menu and casual atmosphere, or try Piccolo Trattoria for pizza that kids love. Both are easy stops before or after your park adventure.
