Open year-round. The cool season (November to February) offers the most comfortable weather for exploring. Avoid visiting during major Buddhist holidays like Makha Bucha or Visakha Bucha when the temple is extremely crowded with local devotees.

Chalong area has numerous family-friendly restaurants within 5-10 minutes' drive, including Kana Restaurant for authentic Thai food and Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Cafe. Many visitors combine this with lunch at Rawai Beach area, 15 minutes south.
