1. 1.Book morning tours (7-9 AM) for the calmest water conditions and best visibility before winds pick up later in the day.
2. 2.Bring reef-safe sunscreen only, as regular sunscreen is harmful to coral reefs and prohibited at cenotes. Biodegradable options are required.
3. 3.Pack water shoes or aqua socks for kids as cenote floors can have sharp rocks, and they provide better grip on boat ladders.
4. 4.Request life jackets for less confident swimmers. The shop provides them free of charge and they make the experience more comfortable for nervous kids.

Visit between November and April during the dry season when water visibility is at its peak and weather is most predictable. Early morning tours (7-8 AM start) offer the best wildlife viewing and cooler temperatures for kids.

The shop provides all necessary equipment including masks, snorkels, fins, and life jackets. Tours are budget-friendly ($ price range) and English-speaking guides are available. Book in advance during peak season (December-March).

Year-round operation, but the best snorkeling conditions are November through April when seas are calmer and visibility is highest. Summer months (June-August) can bring occasional rain and choppier waters. Avoid mid-September through October during hurricane season when tours may be canceled.

Puerto Aventuras Marina has several family-friendly options including Cafe Ole for casual Mexican food and fresh juices, or The Pub for burgers and fish tacos. Both are within walking distance and welcome sandy, post-snorkel families.
