Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail

The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a beautifully maintained 22-mile paved greenway that transforms family outings into mini-adventures. This multi-use trail winds through downtown Greenville and beyond, offering safe, car-free biking and walking with convenient access to parks, playgrounds, and ice cream stops along the way. Families can tackle as much or as little as they want, making it perfect for everyone from toddlers in bike trailers to energetic tweens ready to log some miles.

The trail is completely free to use with multiple access points and parking areas throughout Greenville, including lots near Cleveland Park and Fluor Field. While there are no food vendors directly on the trail, downtown Greenville sections offer easy access to restaurants and cafes within a block.

Open year-round with beautiful fall foliage in October-November and spring wildflowers in April-May. Summer can be hot, so early morning or evening rides work best. The trail is occasionally closed for brief periods during ice or severe weather, but this is rare in Greenville's mild climate.

Coffee Underground (downtown section) offers sandwiches and kid-friendly options in a casual atmosphere, while Chicora Alley has pizza and outdoor seating perfect for families. The Pedal Chix cafe near Travelers Rest is a popular trail stop with smoothies, snacks, and outdoor tables.
