Open year-round, but winter visits require proper cold weather gear and possibly snowshoes or cross-country skis. Spring and fall offer stunning foliage changes. Summer provides the longest daylight (until 10pm in June) but also mosquitoes, so bring insect repellent. Winter days are very short with limited daylight.

Head back toward Gustavsberg village (about 15 minutes by car) where you'll find family-friendly cafes and restaurants with children's menus. Alternatively, stock up on picnic supplies at local supermarkets before your visit to enjoy a true Swedish outdoor meal.
