Visit on weekday mornings during summer for the calmest waters and smallest crowds. Early morning (7-10am) offers the coolest temperatures and best fishing conditions, while late afternoon provides beautiful sunset views over the lake.
The park is free to access with ample parking available. There are no food vendors on-site, so pack a cooler with meals and drinks. Basic restroom facilities are available, and the park offers accessible parking areas.
Best visited from late May through early September when water temperatures are warmest for swimming. Spring and fall offer excellent fishing and cooler weather for hiking around the park. Some facilities may have reduced hours or closures during winter months.
