The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a spectacular five-story wonderland featuring eleven interactive exhibit halls that bring science to life through hands-on experiences. Kids can race alongside a virtual T. rex, feel the ground shake in an earthquake simulator, explore a stunning gem and mineral hall, and even learn about energy and engineering through engaging exhibits that make complex concepts accessible and exciting for young minds.
Visit on weekday mornings (Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday at opening) to avoid weekend crowds and school field trips which typically arrive mid-morning. Saturday and Sunday afternoons get very busy. Note that the museum is closed Tuesdays.
General admission tickets are around $20 for adults and $13 for children (2-12), with additional fees for special traveling exhibits. The museum has a café on-site serving kid-friendly meals, and outside food is not permitted. Parking is available in the attached garage for $10.
Summer months (June-August) see the highest attendance with camps and tourists. The museum hosts special holiday events and themed weekends throughout the year. Consider visiting during spring or fall for more comfortable weather if you plan to explore nearby Victory Park before or after your museum visit.
