2. 2.Bring cash for paid attractions: the carousel ($4), train ($4), and pedal boats ($15-25) don't always accept cards, and there's limited ATM access.
3. 3.Pack a wagon or stroller with wheels that handle gravel,you'll cover serious ground between attractions, and little legs tire quickly on the park's expansive paths.

The park itself is free with ample street parking and several lots (some paid, some free). While many activities cost nothing, budget for paid attractions like the train, carousel, and pedal boats. Food vendors appear on weekends, but bringing your own picnic is recommended for budget-conscious families.

Spring (March-May) brings beautiful azalea blooms and perfect weather. Summer heat can be brutal,visit only in early mornings. The park hosts free concerts at Miller Outdoor Theatre spring through fall. Some attractions may close during inclement weather, and the pedal boats close during winter months.

The park is adjacent to the Museum District,try The Children's Museum of Houston cafe for quick kid-friendly bites, or head to Shade at the Heights (15 minutes away) for elevated comfort food with a dedicated kids' menu and outdoor seating.
