Parking is free and generally available in the designated lot off Lohmans Crossing Road. There are no concessions or restroom facilities, so plan accordingly and bring all supplies including food, drinks, and sunscreen.

Summer (June-August) is peak season for swimming but can be hot with temperatures exceeding 95°F. Spring wildflowers make trails especially beautiful in April. Winter months offer pleasant hiking weather but lake swimming will be too cold for most kids. Always check current Lake Travis water levels as they fluctuate seasonally.

The Oasis on Lake Travis (about 5 minutes away) offers family-friendly Tex-Mex with spectacular sunset views and a kids menu. For quicker options, Lakeway has several family-friendly spots including Torchy's Tacos and Chuy's within a 10-minute drive.
