The monument office is open weekdays only (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, closed weekends). There are no entrance fees, but bring all supplies including water, snacks, and sun protection as facilities are limited in this remote desert location.

Winter and early spring (November-March) offer the most comfortable temperatures for hiking. Summer months (June-August) feature extreme heat and should be avoided or limited to very early morning visits. Wildflowers bloom briefly in spring after rainfall, typically March-April.
