Buffalo Run Park

Buffalo Run Park is a sprawling outdoor oasis in Missouri City that offers families plenty of room to roam and play. With over 130 acres of hike and bike trails, open sports fields, shaded pavilions, and natural wooded areas, this park gives kids the freedom to explore nature while parents enjoy the well-maintained facilities and scenic surroundings.

Visit during spring (March-May) or fall (October-November) for the most comfortable weather. Weekday mornings and late afternoons (4-6 PM) are less crowded. Avoid midday summer visits when temperatures soar and shade is limited.

Parking is free and plentiful near the main entrance. There are no concessions or food vendors, so pack snacks, water, and a picnic lunch. Restroom facilities are available on-site.

Spring brings beautiful wildflowers along the trails, while fall offers cooler temperatures perfect for longer hikes. Summer can be very hot with limited shade, so plan accordingly. The park stays open year-round, though winter visits are best during midday when temperatures are warmest.
