Visit on weekday mornings (Tuesday-Thursday, 8-11 AM) for the smallest crowds and cooler temperatures. Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) offer the most comfortable weather, avoiding the intense summer heat and peak tourist season crowds.

Parking is free and plentiful with easy beach access. Restroom facilities and outdoor showers are available on-site, but there are no food vendors, so pack everything you need for the day.

Open year-round with consistent hours. Summer months (June-August) bring the warmest water temperatures but also the biggest crowds and intense heat. Spring Break (March) can be very busy. Winter months offer pleasant beach walking and bird watching, though water may be too cold for swimming.

Head to Pier 19 Restaurant & Bar (about 10 minutes north) for casual waterfront dining with a kids menu and outdoor seating, or grab family-friendly Tex-Mex at Padre Island Brewing Company which welcomes families and has a relaxed atmosphere.
