Layton Commons Park

Layton Commons Park is a sprawling 52-acre family paradise that truly has something for every age. From the popular splash pad that keeps kids cool in summer to the stocked fishing pond, multiple playgrounds, and miles of walking trails, this park consistently ranks as one of Northern Utah's top family destinations with good reason.

Weekday mornings (8-11 AM) from May through September offer the best experience with smaller crowds and comfortable temperatures. The splash pad runs Memorial Day through Labor Day, making summer the peak season, while spring and fall provide beautiful weather for walking trails and picnics without the water feature crowds.

The park is completely free to visit with ample parking available. Restroom facilities are on-site, but there are no food vendors, so pack snacks and lunch. The splash pad is seasonal (summer only) and trails are stroller and wheelchair accessible.

The splash pad operates Memorial Day through Labor Day only. Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer beautiful weather with fewer crowds. Winter months keep the park open for walking trails but playground equipment may be snow-covered. The park occasionally hosts community events and holiday celebrations.

Station Park shopping center is just 2 miles south with dozens of family-friendly options including Café Rio, Chick-fil-A, and Costa Vida. For sit-down dining, try Roosters Brewing Company (1.5 miles away) which has a good kids menu and casual atmosphere.
