Admission is free with ample parking at the Shell Road entrance. There are no food vendors or restrooms on-site, so plan bathroom breaks before arriving and pack snacks and water. The main trails are relatively flat and family-friendly.

Spring brings blooming wildflowers and active bird nesting season (March-May). Summer can be hot and buggy but offers lush greenery. Fall provides the most comfortable hiking weather with stunning foliage. Winter is quieter with good wildlife visibility through bare trees, though some trails may be muddy after rain.
