The shop also offers rentals and gear if you want to venture out on your own after lessons.

1. 1.Book morning lessons when possible,the water is typically calmest and kids have more energy before the afternoon sun wears them out
2. 2.Apply waterproof sunscreen 30 minutes before your lesson and bring extra for reapplication; you'll be in the water longer than you think
3. 3.Arrive 15 minutes early to get sized for wetsuits and boards without rushing, especially with multiple kids
4. 4.Bring water shoes or surf booties to protect little feet from shells and sand, plus towels and dry clothes for afterward
5. 5.Don't forget an underwater camera or GoPro to capture those first stand-up moments,instructors are usually happy to snap photos during breaks

Late May through early September offers the warmest water temperatures, with weekday mornings (Tuesday-Thursday) being less crowded than weekends. Mid-June through August provides the most consistent small waves perfect for learning, though water can be refreshingly cool in spring and fall.

Lessons typically require advance booking, especially during peak summer months. All equipment including boards, wetsuits, and safety gear is provided. The shop is closed Sundays, so plan accordingly when scheduling your beach week activities.

Peak season runs Memorial Day through Labor Day with the fullest lesson schedule. Spring and fall offer fewer crowds and competitive pricing, though water temperatures require full wetsuits. Winter hours may be limited or by appointment only,call ahead if visiting off-season.

Sandbridge Island Restaurant (5 minutes away) offers casual family dining with kids' menus and ocean views, while Baja Cantina serves up tacos and beach-casual fare perfect for hungry surfers still in their swimsuits.
