Late spring through early fall offers the best weather, with weekday mornings or late afternoons being least crowded. Summer weekends are lively and social but expect more families. Avoid visiting right after school lets out (3-5pm) when the playgrounds are busiest.

Parking and entry are completely free with multiple parking lots throughout the park. Restrooms are available, and while there's no on-site food service, picnic tables and shelters are plentiful for bringing your own meals.

Open year-round, though winter visits may be muddy and rainy (typical Pacific Northwest weather). The rose garden is most spectacular from June through September. The park is perfect for all seasons,fall leaf jumping, winter puddle stomping, and spring flower viewing all have their charm.

Head to North Fork Brewery (5-minute drive) for pizza and a family-friendly atmosphere with outdoor seating, or try Diamond Jim's Grill & Alehouse nearby for classic American fare with a kids menu.
