Visit on weekday mornings during summer (June-August) for the best experience with fewer crowds and calmer waters. Lifeguards are on duty during peak season, making it safest for swimming. Weekends get very busy, so arriving by 10am is essential if visiting Saturday or Sunday.

The park is free to visit with ample parking available (though it fills quickly in summer). Restrooms and changing areas are on-site. No food concessions are available, so pack a cooler with snacks and drinks for the day.

Lifeguards are only on duty during summer season (typically mid-June through Labor Day). While the park is open year-round, swimming is realistically only enjoyable June through September. The beach and playground can still be enjoyed in spring and fall, though lake water will be cold. Winter visits are best for peaceful walks rather than water activities.
