Entry and parking are free, making this an excellent budget-friendly adventure. Restroom facilities are available near the main areas, but bring your own snacks and water as there are no food vendors on-site.

The forest is open year-round, but trails can be muddy in early spring and icy in winter,check conditions before visiting with young children. Fall foliage (mid-October) is spectacular but attracts more visitors. Some facilities may have reduced hours in winter months.
