Entry is completely free with no tickets required. Street food vendors and small cafes line the eastern shore, though bringing your own snacks and water is recommended for young kids. Restroom facilities are limited, so plan accordingly.

Year-round destination, though the rainy season (May to September) can bring afternoon downpours. The dry, cooler season (November to April) is most comfortable for families. Tet (Vietnamese New Year, late January or February) brings festive decorations but larger crowds.

Xuan Dieu Street along the eastern shore has numerous family-friendly cafes and restaurants including Pizza 4P's (popular with expat families for reliable kid-friendly Western food) and local pho shops where adventurous eaters can try Vietnamese noodle soup.
