Open year-round, but summer months (November to February) can be very hot with afternoon thunderstorms common. Winter (June to August) offers the most comfortable hiking weather with mild, dry days. Trails may be muddy after heavy rains during summer.

Bryanston Organic Market (about 5 minutes drive) operates Thursday mornings and offers family-friendly food stalls and a relaxed atmosphere. Alternatively, Nicolway Shopping Centre in Bryanston has various kid-friendly chain restaurants and coffee shops with changing facilities.
