


Quarry Rock Hike is a beloved family-friendly trail that rewards hikers with stunning panoramic views of Indian Arm and the surrounding mountains. This 3.8 km round-trip adventure offers just the right amount of challenge for active families, with a well-maintained path through beautiful BC forest leading to a spectacular viewpoint where kids can enjoy their snacks and celebrate reaching the summit.
Late spring through early fall (May to October) offers the best weather and driest trail conditions. Visit on weekday mornings or early weekend mornings (before 9am) to avoid crowds and enjoy cooler temperatures for the uphill climb. Summer evenings provide beautiful golden light at the summit.
The trail is free to access and open year-round, but winter conditions can make it icy and treacherous without proper gear. Limited parking is available at the trailhead on Panorama Drive, with overflow parking in Deep Cove village. No washrooms are available on the trail, so use facilities in Deep Cove before starting.
Best hiked from April through October when trails are dry and weather is mild. Winter hiking (November to March) is possible but requires caution due to mud, ice, and reduced daylight hours. The trail can be extremely slippery when wet. Summer weekends see the heaviest traffic with hundreds of hikers, while spring and fall offer beautiful foliage and fewer crowds.
Deep Cove village (5-minute drive or 15-minute walk from trailhead) offers family favorites like Arm's Reach Bistro for casual meals with waterfront views, and the famous Honey Doughnuts & Goodies where kids can refuel with donuts and ice cream. Arms Reach Pizza is perfect for hungry hikers.
