Best visited during dry season (April-October) when seas are calmest and skies clearest. The wet season (November-March) can bring afternoon rain showers, rougher surf, and cloudier water. During Nyepi (Balinese New Year, usually March), all beaches are closed and visitors must remain indoors.

Traditional warungs near the beach offer simple, affordable Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng (fried rice) and mie goreng (fried noodles) that kids typically enjoy. For more variety, the nearby town of Candidasa (15 minutes west) has family-friendly restaurants with international menus.
