1. 1.Park at Town Centre Park on the west side where you'll find the best playground, spray park, and closest washroom facilities.
2. 2.Bring bread alternatives like frozen peas or oats to feed the ducks and geese, as bread is unhealthy for waterfowl.
3. 3.Visit on weekday mornings for quieter trails and better wildlife spotting opportunities, especially during summer when weekends get busy.
4. 4.Pack bug spray for evening visits, especially near the water's edge during warmer months.

Late spring through early fall (May to September) offers the best weather for outdoor activities, with the spray park operating in summer months. Weekday mornings are ideal for avoiding crowds, while sunset walks provide beautiful photo opportunities and cooler temperatures.

Completely free to visit with ample parking around the lake perimeter. Washrooms and water fountains available at Town Centre Park. No food vendors on site, so pack snacks and water, though nearby Coquitlam Town Centre has plenty of dining options.

The spray park operates June through September, weather permitting. Paddleboat rentals are available during summer months only. Winter visits are still lovely for walks and wildlife spotting, though dress warmly. The lake sometimes freezes partially in winter, creating pretty ice formations but is not safe for skating.

Coquitlam Town Centre mall (5 minute walk) offers numerous family-friendly chain restaurants including White Spot, a Canadian favorite with a kids menu and fun pirate ship play area. For quick bites, grab pizza or sushi from the food court before heading to the lake for a picnic.
