Tampa Bay Raptor Rescue offers an unforgettable hands-on learning experience where kids can get up close with hawks, owls, eagles, and other magnificent birds of prey. This wildlife rehabilitation center combines conservation education with interactive encounters, allowing families to meet resident raptors while learning about their rescue stories and the important role these birds play in our ecosystem.
Tuesday through Thursday mornings (10:00-11:00 AM) offer smaller crowds and cooler temperatures. The birds are most active in the morning, and you'll have more one-on-one time with knowledgeable staff members to ask questions.
Admission fees support the rescue's rehabilitation efforts (check website for current pricing). The facility is mostly outdoors with some shaded areas, so dress for Florida weather. No food is available on-site, so plan accordingly.
Open year-round Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays). Florida summers can be very hot, so spring and fall offer the most comfortable visiting conditions. Special educational programs may be offered during school break periods.
