Tampa Bay Raptor Rescue offers an unforgettable hands-on learning experience where kids can get up close with hawks, owls, eagles, and other magnificent birds of prey. 1. 1.Book your guided tour in advance online as spots fill up quickly, especially on weekends
2. 2.Visit on a cooler day or during morning hours,the birds are more active and the outdoor exhibits are more comfortable to explore
3. 3.Bring a camera with a good zoom lens for amazing photo opportunities, but remember no flash photography as it can stress the birds
4. 4.Wear closed-toe shoes and sun protection since you'll be walking outdoors through the facility
5. 5.Ask staff about feeding demonstrations and flight training sessions which happen at specific times throughout the day

Tuesday through Thursday mornings (10:00-11:00 AM) offer smaller crowds and cooler temperatures. The birds are most active in the morning, and you'll have more one-on-one time with knowledgeable staff members to ask questions.

Admission fees support the rescue's rehabilitation efforts (check website for current pricing). The facility is mostly outdoors with some shaded areas, so dress for Florida weather. No food is available on-site, so plan accordingly.

Open year-round Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays). Florida summers can be very hot, so spring and fall offer the most comfortable visiting conditions. Special educational programs may be offered during school break periods.
