The Riverwalk is completely free with ample street and lot parking available near Fort Mellon Park. The paved path is stroller and wheelchair accessible, with restrooms and water fountains at key locations, though there are no food vendors on-site.

Summer can be very hot and humid, so morning or evening visits work best June-August. Winter months (December-February) offer the most pleasant temperatures for midday walks. The Riverwalk hosts seasonal events like the Sanford Artwalk and holiday festivals, which add extra family-friendly entertainment throughout the year.
