West Orange Trail

The West Orange Trail offers 22 miles of smooth, paved pathways ideal for family bike rides, leisurely strolls, and rollerblading adventures through charming Winter Garden and beautiful Central Florida landscapes. 1. 1.Start at the Chapin Station trailhead in Winter Garden where you'll find ample parking, restrooms, bike rentals, and easy access to downtown restaurants for post-ride treats
2. 2.Bring your own bikes if possible to save on rental costs, but if renting, arrive early on weekends as bikes go quickly during peak times
3. 3.Pack plenty of water and snacks,while there are rest areas, they're spaced out and shade can be limited in some sections
4. 4.Look for the mile markers to help kids set achievable goals, like riding to mile 3 and back for beginners
5. 5.Download an offline trail map before you go, as cell service can be spotty in some natural areas along the route

Early morning (7-9am) or late afternoon (4-6pm) during fall through spring offers the most comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds. Weekdays are quieter than weekends, and avoid midday summer visits when the Florida sun is most intense.

The trail is free to use with multiple access points offering free parking, including the popular Chapin Station trailhead. Bike rentals are available at several locations near the trail, and downtown Winter Garden (at the trail's midpoint) offers numerous family-friendly restaurants and ice cream shops perfect for a break.

Most comfortable October through April when temperatures are mild. Summer can be very hot and humid,go early morning only. The trail is open year-round and rarely closes, though afternoon thunderstorms are common June through September.

Chef's Table at the Edgewater in downtown Winter Garden offers upscale casual dining with a kids menu, or grab pizza and gelato at Terralina Crafted Italian just off the trail. The Plant Street Market has multiple food vendors perfect for picky eaters.
