This is a completely free attraction with no facilities, so plan bathroom breaks before arriving (public restrooms available in downtown Chatham). The viewing deck has railings but supervise young children closely near the water's edge.

While open year-round, summer and early fall (June-October) offer the most fishing boat activity and reliable seal sightings. Winter visits are possible but expect fewer boats, colder winds, and limited action. Seal viewing is actually excellent in spring when pups are born.
