Munising Falls

Munising Falls offers families an accessible, rewarding nature experience with a short 0.8-mile round-trip hike to a stunning 50-foot waterfall. The well-maintained paved path and boardwalks make this one of the Upper Peninsula's most kid-friendly waterfall trails, perfect for introducing little ones to outdoor adventures without the challenge of difficult terrain.

Parking is free at the well-marked trailhead lot off H-58. The paved trail is wheelchair and stroller accessible to the main viewing platform, though no food services are available on-site, so pack snacks and water.

Open year-round, but the trail can be icy and treacherous in winter (December-March), requiring microspikes or crampons. Spring offers the most powerful water flow, while the falls may reduce to a trickle during dry summer periods. Fall foliage peaks in late September to early October.
