Entry is free, though you may need to register at the gate. There are basic restroom facilities but no restaurant on-site, so bring snacks and water. The paths are mostly stroller-friendly on main trails, though a baby carrier is recommended for venturing onto smaller paths.

The arboretum is open year-round, but visiting during Kenya's dry seasons (January to March and July to October) offers the most pleasant weather. The rainy seasons (April-June and November-December) can make paths muddy and slippery, though the park becomes beautifully lush. The park is typically open daily from 6am to 6:30pm.
