Visit Tuesday through Thursday mornings between 8:00-10:00 AM for smaller crowds and the best wildlife viewing. Spring (March-May) and fall (October-November) offer the most comfortable temperatures for hiking, while early mornings in summer are essential to beat the heat.

Admission is free, making this an excellent budget-friendly family outing. There are no food concessions on-site, so pack snacks and plenty of water, and note that the preserve is closed on Mondays.

Spring brings migrating birds and wildflowers, making it the most spectacular season to visit. Summer visits require early morning timing due to intense heat. Fall offers comfortable hiking weather and continued wildlife activity. Winter can be surprisingly pleasant for trail walks on sunny days.
