


The Mayborn Museum Complex is a hands-on paradise where kids can explore everything from a historic Texas village to natural science exhibits and even climb through a 16-foot treehouse. With interactive discovery rooms designed specifically for younger children and engaging cultural history exhibits that bring Texas heritage to life, this museum keeps kids entertained while sneaking in plenty of learning.
Weekday mornings (Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00 AM-noon) offer the quietest experience with minimal crowds. Sunday afternoons work well for local families since hours are shorter (1:00-5:00 PM), making it less crowded than Saturdays.
General admission is around $9-10 for adults and $7-8 for children, with kids under 2 free. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, has clean family restrooms, and offers plenty of free parking adjacent to the building.
The outdoor Historic Village is most comfortable in spring (March-May) and fall (October-November) when Texas heat is manageable. Summer visits work best if you tour the village early or late in the day. The museum offers special programming during school breaks and holidays.

The Dr Pepper Museum offers a sweet blend of history and hands-on fun in the birthplace of America's iconic soda.
