While access to the dam area is free, guided tours range from $15-$30 per person. Security screening is required (similar to airport security), so allow extra time and avoid bringing large bags. Limited food options are available, so pack snacks and meals.

Summer (June-August) brings extreme heat often exceeding 110°F, making outdoor exploration challenging with children. Winter offers mild, pleasant temperatures but can be windy. Tours operate year-round, but some outdoor areas may have limited access during extreme weather.
